Why we built it
Loccodes solved identity. Maimaps solves accessibility.
Millions of places across Nigeria lack formal addresses that digital systems can reliably interpret. Delivery companies make multiple confirmation calls before dispatching a rider. Customers write paragraph-long directions. Businesses can't standardize their location across an invoice, a website, and a support ticket at the same time.
In November 2024, we introduced loccodes to give every place in Nigeria a stable, machine-readable reference, the way a phone number identifies a person. Maimaps is where that infrastructure becomes something any Nigerian can use every day: a mapping platform, searchable and navigable, built around it.
What makes it different
A loccode is a first-class search input.
Maimaps works the way you expect a maps app to work: search roads, businesses, and landmarks, get directions, explore what's nearby. But it's the only mapping platform in Nigeria where you can type or paste a loccode and navigate directly to that precise location.
